auranetImportant Reminder: The network is only ICly accessible to those in Auradon. Should this change over the course of the game, this information will be updated, but for now it's inaccessible to those on the Isle.
But to make sure it is accessible to everyone on the Auradon side, King Ben will be distributing free smartphones to new arrivals at his first speech mini event, a few days after game open. Anyone who arrives after the initial few- either by arriving directly in Auradon or earning their way there from the Isle- will also receive a free smartphone shortly after landing, though there may not be any more direct 'distribution events'. Any similar devices that characters may have arrived with will lose any 'online' communication or signaling ability for the present, though any 'offline' files and features will still be accessible.
The phones allow for all the standard messaging options: text, audio, and video. Any of these can be locked to certain individuals, and text messages can be made ICly anonymous as well. And being smart phones, they also have a number of additional features.
The camera can be used to take IC pics and video independent from the messaging functions. They have a decent amount of storage space for said pics and videos, plus other types of files as well. So if your character wants to download their MP3 collection or photo album to their new device, there will me more than enough room. They also come pre-installed with a number of zapps.
Sugar Bowl: Think Candy Crush, but if it was a merge/match game. Matched candies are collected in a jar below the puzzle screen, and filling the jar completely earns various bonuses. Just as colorful and addictive as its real world counterpart.
InstaRoyal: A social network zapp where characters can post photos. Likes are called 'bows' and followers are called 'subjects'. There is a long backlog of posts, mostly about fashion trends.
Zapchat: Another social networking zapp, a bit less elegant than InstaRoyal. There's a long backlog of posts here too, though they're mostly about sillier things, like princesses kissing frogs that don't become princes and the Tourney team covered in pumpkin juice.
Auradon Times: A zapp for accessing and reading the eponymous newspaper. Backissues are hidden behind a paywall, but if characters can find a way to pay for or otherwise unlock them (and if there's sufficient OOC interest) the mods can write some up in our spare time.
Calendar: Exactly what it says on the tin. Characters can use it to set IC reminders of upcoming events for themselves, and may occasionally get automated notifications related to things like upcoming holidays.
Calculator: Your math teacher was wrong; you will always have a calculator in your pocket. At least in Auradon.
Notepad: Also exactly what it says on the tin. Characters can use this to write notes for themselves, make lists, do whatever. It's pretty basic though; just plain text, with no ability to make things bold or italics or anything like the text messaging network feature.
WeTube: So. Many. Cat videos. Seriously, so many. But if characters can get past the massive numbers of videos of cute, cuddly critters, there are videos on other subjects there too. Also the platform on which NPC Jordan hosted her web show. Mostly it's an excuse for characters to ICly post/share fun videos, but the mods may do something more with it down the line.
AuraTunes: A zapp that lets characters download and listen to MP3s. Downloads are free, but characters will have to deal with various in-zapp ads and the zapp occasionallybugging them to politely suggesting that they upgrade to the premium version to avoid such.

The Zapp Store: Link to a place where characters can download other zapps (what apps are called locally) to their phones. Feel free to have fun with it, but be reasonable.
